General Conference

A couple of months ago I was sitting in this Temple and had this strong feeling that needed to attend General Conference. After talking with Angie about it we decided that we would go together if I were to actually go. I made the plan to watch airline ticket prices for one week, which actually turned into two. They never went down and I had a hard time decided to purchase the tickets since I didn't have any money at the time. I went to the temple again and felt an overwhelming sense that I needed to go again. So, without hesitation I bought the ticket and and Angie and I began planning out trip.

As many of you know, last weekend was General Conference. It was absolutely amazing. I arrived in Salt Lake on Friday morning where I met up with Angie.  The first thing we did was attend a session at the Salt Lake Temple. It was was beautiful. I picked up on many different things that I haven't noticed or had learned at our Anchorage temple. I loved thinking about all the history and ALL the people who have walked those halls. It was a live session, where the workers act out the endowment. That was really interesting and very instructive.

We then walked around Temple Square a little bit and then watched the Joseph Smith movie. The craftsmanship of al the buildings in Temple Square is remarkable. To think it was all done by hand, both inside and out. The Lord was definitely with them! Temple Square is definitely filled with the Spirit. It is so strong everywhere you go, all the time.

There were many different times that tears just filled my eyes as I watched all the people around me. Thousands of people all gathered together believing the same thing. Looking back on the experiences I had and the things I witnessed, I know that I needed to go to strengthen my testimony. As I sat on the lawn looking up at the Temple and listening to conference, or when I was sitting in the conference center watching the priesthood speak to us, I couldn't help but count my many MANY blessings and feel absolutely loved because of the choice and opportunity I had to go.

I am so glad I decided to go and can't wait to go again. I am thankful to the many people that helped me get there, I am eternally grateful for you have no idea what this weekend did for me! THANK YOU!

Here's a sneak peak of a few pictures, unfortunately they aren't the best quality because they were taken on my phone, the actual camera pictures will be coming soon!
